This full-length collection of poetry from Ed Krizek cover over thirty years of writing for the author. There is a mix of different types of poetry in s style that is easily understood. In addition to older pieces the book includes a number of new poems which are representative of how Ed’s writing is today..
This new book of poems is a smartly organized, tight collection of visions, that transports his readers through gratitude, wisdom, and the simple joys of living. These poems encourage you to revel in the moment. Krizek’s poems are honest, artful and infused with a passion for life, a poet who knows there is a joy in breathing. ,For example, his poem "Epistle for My Father," in which he is a man facing stark realizations of his life, confronting his father for answers that will never come, not unlike his audience contemplating their own lives. In this way, the poems in this book are universal, they strike a poignant chord. A Good Life is stunningly lyrical, full of poems that challenge the way you see the world, even as they invite you to open your eyes. There is music within these lines, with carefully chosen words to allow for alliteration, assonance, and hidden metaphors. It’s a poetic ride from unknowing to understanding.
